Greg & Kath Do Sydney!

Yeah, we have friends!!!!

Stuart's friends, Greg & Kath, stopped by in Sydney on the weekend during their journey to Melbourne. Their story is similar to ours....packed up their life in Brissie to move to Melbourne for Kath's work, knowing no one there and having no where to call 'home'. Crazy and exciting all at the same time, but we know they will do well there.

Anyway, the kids were meant to come Thurs to Sat, but saying good-bye took longer than expected so they came on Sat to Monday instead. Stuart had cricket Sat and then we had tickets to go to the Grates concert at night, but we managed to cram welcoming guests and rocking out to music all in.

Saturday nite began with a good feed at Sushi Land - $2.50 all plates, evening special. One of our favourite places to eat in Crows Nest. A little worried that it was going to be packed (the place is always bumpin' when you walked by), but it was perfect timing for us - there was no one there! So we filled our tummy's up with some raw fish and rice and then Stuart and I headed off to the Enmore to see the Grates while G&K took a little kip to re-coup from the 10 hr drive down.

The Grates put on a great (hehe) show. They're like my first favourite Aussie band. I instantly fell in love with them when I first came so I had to see them live in concert. Anyway, the set was really good.

After the concert, we quickly went back to our place to finish hanging out with our friends. It was good for me to finally meet them since I heard so much about the two, and it was even better for Stuart to catch up with his life long friends. We did the usual drinking wine, listening to music, and chatting till the early morn.

The next day Stuart had to work (booo!) and G&K were really keen on walking over the bridge to check out the city. Greg originally wanted to wake up super early to check out Sunday Sunrise (apparently he's obsessed), but some how slept through the 10 alarms he set before going to bed :) (FYI Greg, I can't get Funky Cold Madina out of my head!). Despite missing out on sunrise, the two still had a great time checking out the bridge, opera house, and circular quay.

Kath & Greg love the Harbour Bridge...

After everyone returned home from their various activities, we all met up to go out for some Italian food. Our other favourite restaurant, La Tavola, was closed unfortunately, so we nabbed a spot at another place that looked quite popular. It was such a good place and I thoroughly enjoyed stuffing my face with Gnochhi and Bruschetta.....and wine. I think everyone had a great time and it was great to have friends stay over and hang with.

Monday came too quickly and Greg & Kath were off to complete the final leg in their trip to Melbourne. We got news that they arrived safely and are now on the search for a place to live. I have no doubt that they'll find something, I only hope it's big enough for when Stuart and I go to visit all the time :)
